Greg Horn

Lead minister

In 2001, Greg began ministry at Berry Christian Church, where he was ordained and served as Pastor for 2 years.  He went on to become an Associate Pastor at Northeast Christian Church here in Lexington, advancing to Executive Pastor, a role he fulfilled for 8 years.  Since 2018, he served as Pastor of Jackson Christian Church.


Greg has occupied various roles in multiple other ministries to include board positions with Assurance Pregnancy Center and Lighthouse Ministries.  For 6 years, he has served as a Promotional Strategist for the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) annual summer conference.


HOPE is Here Ministries, which includes a daily radio program, was started by Greg to address mental health and reduce the suicide rate in Kentucky.  Listen in on WJMM (99.1 FM) at 8:15 am and 12:45 pm or visit HopeisHereToday.org.  Podcasts are available on major platforms (iTunes, Podbean, Spotify, YouTube, etc.)  Additionally, he does a daily "1 Minute Cup of HOPE" video  on TikTok, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook @HopeisHereLex.


In his spare time, Greg provides the radio voice for the Lexington Christian Academy Eagles football team (7 years running).  He is an avid sports fan, favoring basketball, and is a Norse fan where his brother Darrin is the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Northern Kentucky University.  He enjoys watching and supporting his nephews Blane (Center College football), Walker (UK basketball) and Alex (Wofford University tennis).


Outside of spending time with family, Greg is a loyal Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Reds and New York Knicks fan.  He also enjoys exercising, reading, traveling and conversation over a cup of coffee.

clay coburn

worship leader

Clay's passion is helping congregations take a moment out of their busy schedules to engage in active worship through music.  He has enjoyed doing this for decades.  Growing up in central Kentucky, it has been a blessing to help out different churches throughout the area with their weekend services in leading worship.


He teaches special education students at the high school level throughout the week.  He and his wife have two amazing boys, one in college studying mechanical engineering, and the youngest is a senior in high school.

JUSTIN NORTHCUTT

Youth Minister

Justin comes to us from Cynthiana, KY,  He attended Kentucky Christian University and has been working in youth ministry for nearly ten years.  He has a passion for this ministry and feels blessed that this is God's calling for his life.


In his walk with Christ, he has experienced many valleys and mountain tops, but has clearly seen that God has led the way through it all and continues to lead his path today!  Justin's hope and prayer is that God will always be seen though him, no matter if he is working with children, youth or adults.

Peggy King

Children's director

Originally from the Cincinnati area, Peggy has lived in Lexington for 44 years now.  She and her husband Doug have 4 adult children and 10 grandchildren.  For 40 years now,  her passion for children has driven her career.  She was a preschool teacher, then spent the most recent 7 years as the Children's Ministry Director at another Christian church here in Lexington.


Peggy's hobbies include caring for her horses and donkey, gardening and backyard bird watching.  Besides the barn where her equine friends live, her favorite spot to enjoy nature is the large waterfalls  she discovered while trail riding at Shaker Village.

KARI STCLAIR

Assistant children's director

After living most of her life in Lexington, Kari recently moved to Versailles to be closer to her grandkids.  She enjoys spending time with her two sons and five grandsons, plus two very spoiled dogs.


Kari attended business college and currently works from home as a Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster, licensed in South Carolina, New York, Texas and Kentucky.


She has worked as a Sunday School teacher for ages 2-8 for the last 5 years and has been trained as a Children's Worship and Wonder storyteller.


In her spare time, she enjoys ballroom dancing, hiking and anything outdoors.


Teresa welch

Administrative Assistant

Teresa lives on a farm in Jessamine County with her husband, Tom.  She retired from IBM/Lexmark after 35 years, but went on to work part-time for Jessamine Fiscal Court and then Jessamine Christian Church.  One of her favorite things to do is "country cooking" which she loves to share with families in her church who need encouragement.  Teresa has learned throughout her life that you never know where God will send you, or a life you might touch.


Favorite verse:  Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Curtis Cox

production team leader

Curtis started running sound at Southern Acres Christian Church in 1981. After 20 years he went to Southland Christian Church running front of house sound at all locations and monitors at Lexington and Nicholasville locations. He was then asked to help out at Gardenside Christian Church running sound. He has started a production team using Planning Center to schedule for all positions. He has upgraded the camera system for the live stream and worked with existing volunteers to upgrade the video switcher. Curtis has just finished repairing the current lighting system and creating a lighting control position for Sunday morning service.  Curtis enjoys being the production team leader and helping team members develop their talents for the Lord by serving at Gardenside Christian Church. Ann Allison

event coordinator

Ann grew up in Franklin County attending a small Church of Christ where her grandfather was the minister.   Herr she met her husband Jim.  Her family modeled giving generously and unconditionally of your talent, time, energy and finances.   


She and Jim worked at Lexington Christian School for 8 years before moving to Ohio to work for Mansfield Christian School.   They moved back home when Jim was no longer able to work due to Multiple Sclerosis.  After a 22 year battle he passed in 2007.


Ann worked for Members Heritage Credit Union for 30 years before retiring in December 2020.  While there she served in several areas, Accounting representative, Area Branch Manager, Internal Auditor, Compliance Specialist before ending her career as Special Assistant to the President.


Romans 12:1 is one of her favorite verses.  Throughout her life she has seen God’s directing and preparing her for the next stage of life.


She is excited to share God’s love at Gardenside and the community we serve.
