“Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.” - Mark 9:35
At Gardenside we believe it is the church's responsibility to share the love of Christ by serving like He did. You can visit our "BEYOND THESE WALLS" table in the back of our sanctuary to discover our current service opportunities. Below you will also find a list of the many service opportunities available on a monthly basis and others that are ongoing. Many Sunday School groups and Women's Circles have monthly projects that they are involved with as well.
Making Sandwiches for the Hope Mobile:
Come help make Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches for the Hope Mobile in Lexington. We meet on the first Sunday of every month in the kitchen of our Family Life Center at 5:30pm.
Feeding the Homeless (Middle & High School):
The Middle & High School students of Gardenside help cook and serve a meal on the third Sunday of every month in Lexington. Our goal is to provide a warm meal and a friendly face. Join us as we try to make a difference in our community.
Room In the Inn (December - March):
This is a local ministry that we partner with to provide food and shelter for the night (at Gardenside) for homeless men in Lexington. This is a wonderful ministry and we need lots of volunteers to make it possible. Share the love of Christ with the homless in our city.
James Lane Allen Elementary:
We have made it our goal to "adopt" James Lane Allen Elementary. There are many opportunities to make a difference there. One of those is the "Read with a Kid" program which only requires 20 minutes each week during the school year. Please contact Bobby Cairell for more information about opportunities to serve
